TROY PASSEY Much of my work features the repetition of handwritten text to form larger minimal shapes. For me, repeating a particular phrase is a meditative activity. While I aim to create visually calming compositions, I also feel compelled to acknowledge starker aspects of life—usually through the meaning of the phrases themselves.
